Phone Calls

I hate making phone calls. Even to friends. Most of my calls last about a minute. Most of the time it's even less then that. I've made more calls this month then any other in recent memory. The thing i probably hate even more then making a phone call is trying to end one.

Luckily the people involved with making this movie (for the purpose of this blog I'll limit it to James, Robert and Chris) know how to end these phone calls for me.

Examples:

Robert: Ok, so that's it. Tell Anne I respect women. Bye.

Pretty simple.

Brett: So...ok.
James: Yeah. Buuuuhhh-byyyee.

And Chris. Chris is big on wrapping up a conversation by addressing the next point of contact you have with him. I'll show a few examples.

Chris: Ok. So I'll go to the airport tomorrow and...
Or:
Chris: Ok. I'll give you a call tomorrow or you give me a call.

See how he preempts the goodbye by talking about the future. Coincidently there are a lot of Okay's in conversation wrapup.

I'm getting on a plane this afternoon going back for LA, Take Two. It's been a good week of rest, being sick for a few of the days and generally not wanting to leave the apartment for the other days. But I'm ready for the final push, then Chris and I leave on the 8th...and get back on the 9th.
